The best quote in the article has to be this:

“I checked it before I put it on, but the swastika was very small and I didn’t see it,” he said. “I really liked the look of the uniform after seeing it in the Tom Cruise film ‘Valkyrie.’ I bought it from a costume hire shop in Germany.”

I think all this situation is way to largely discussed, with no reason. He wore a uniform of an army, he didn’t said or done anything against jewry. What I say is: lets make a law that prohibites pants, or the Volkswagen cars, because Hitler used to ware or drive it.

I find the whole situation to be a bit absurd myself. That it is against Romanian law to wear such attire, however, makes it somewhat inexcusable for an official of his standing to commit this faux pas.

I’m not sure a law prohibiting pants is a step in the right direction, though.
